Laying the Foundation for Total Health

Chiropractic care is like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care:

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care two to three times per week for four to 12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical to need care four to eight times per month for six to 24 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor one to four times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.

The Initial Visit

When you walk through the doors of RiverOne Health and Wellness, you will be greeted with our professional and courteous staff. They will provide you with the standard forms for new patient information, and all related paperwork. You should arrive 15 minutes before your appointment, as this will give you plenty of time to fill in the paperwork.

Please bring all necessary documentation, such as your most recent office notes, and/or copies of any diagnostic reports (X-ray, CT, MRI, ETC.), and your insurance card.

The Consultation

Once you have filled out all the necessary forms and provided us with information about your health and condition. Our doctor will then ask questions about your condition, so that he can determine whether acupuncture or chiropractic care is the best option for you.

If you are a good candidate for our care, the doctor will let you know. However, if you need second opinions or collaborative care with other medical professionals, then you will be referred to another doctor that can help you. Nothing will be done in the office, without your approval and consent.

The Examination

Once the consultation is over, you will then have a comprehensive examination, which may involve testing your reflexes, and your ability to bend and turn. You will also have standard physical, postural, neurologic, and orthopedic examinations as well. The doctor will provide you with valuable information about your condition and may refer additional testing procedures or X-rays.

Once the examination section of your visit is complete, you will get a clear understanding about the cause of your condition, along with the best course of action to take. We will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your condition, before deciding on a chiropractic or acupuncture treatment.

Report of Findings

After the information has been collected and all examinations have been performed, you will be given a report of findings by the doctor, which will include treatment recommendations. The report of findings will include a comprehensive analysis of the problem you are suffering from, and the best treatment procedure you can get from us.

The doctor will give his recommendation after considering your lifestyle choices, goals, future, and challenges you may face along the way.

The Treatment

Once you have decided on the treatment option best for you, we will begin the treatment. You may see results from the first treatment, but that depends on the type of treatment and severity of your condition. We have experienced assistants who will help the doctor in the treatment, and ensure that all patients have a pleasant experienced at RiverOne Health and Wellness.
